Roy Pearson: Investments in real estate still profitable
Professor Emeritus Roy Pearson tells the Daily Press that some real estate investments are performing better than 401(k)s.
He says, "On average, these owners would still have very large profits if they sold their homes at today's prices, even with the recent drop in sales prices. Even if there are some further price declines this year before the housing market turns up, the investment in their homes will prove to have been a sound and profitable investment — much better than their 401(k)s."
