Biography

L. Allen Slade, Ph.D. is Director of the Leadership Advantage program at the College of William & Mary, where he is also an associate clinical professor of business. He coordinates the activities of the Leadership Advantage program and teaches leadership to MBA students. He is also a Research Fellow at Valtera Corporation.

Allen's research interests are in leadership development, 360 assessment, career development and employee opinion surveys. He has published 10 journal articles in journals such as Personnel Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Academy of Management Review.

Allen previously worked at Microsoft as Director of People Research. He worked at Ford Motor Company in a variety of personnel research jobs, including Organizational Survey Services Manager. He worked as an intern at IBM.

Allen held full time faculty positions at the University of Delaware as an assistant professor of business administration and at Covenant College as an associate professor of management. He has also taught as adjunct faculty at Seattle Pacific University and the University of Washington at Tacoma.

Allen has a B.A. with Distinction in Psychology from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology with a concentration in strategic human resource management from the University of Tennessee.
