Biography

Inga Carboni joined the College of William and Mary faculty in 2007. She received her Ph.D. in Organization Studies from Boston College. In addition, she earned a Masters degree in Social Psychology from Boston College, a Masters degree in History from Tufts University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Bowdoin College.

Inga's research examines interpersonal and intergroup processes from a social network perspective. She has two streams of ongoing academic research: one focused on interpersonal and intergroup conflict and the other on intrateam knowledge transfer. Inga is particularly interested in understanding how groups manage issues related to productive and destructive forms of conflict. She also helps individuals and groups develop leadership and conflict management skills.

Prior to pursuing her doctorate, Inga worked in different capacities in industry, including marketing, management consulting, and project development. Her clients and employers included Fidelity Investments, WGBH Educational Foundation, Ralston-Purina, Management Sciences for Health, and Harvard University. Inga has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in management and psychology, including Group Dynamics, Interpersonal Relations, Organizational Behavior, and Work-based Experiential Learning.
