Biography
Professor Araujo earned a Ph.D. degree from University of Oklahoma. In addition to The College of William and Mary, he has taught at Korea University Business School (South Korea), University of Canterbury (New Zealand), and University of Oklahoma (USA). Prior to entering the PhD program, he held professional and consulting positions in the computer industry for several years in Brazil.
Areas of Interest/Expertise
His research focuses on trust development in virtual teams, computer-mediated work, collaborative technology adoption in teams with globally dispersed members, and IT in Developing Countries. His work has been recognized by a Provost's Dissertation Award (2005) for excellence in research. He was also selected to the prestigious 2003 ICIS Doctoral Consortium.
He has published in the International Journal of Networking and Virtual Organizations, Handbook of Research on Electronic Collaboration and Organizational Synergy, and international conferences such as Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), Global Information Technology Management World Conference (GITMA), JAIS Theory Development Workshop, and IFIP International Conference. He is currently on the editorial board of the International Journal of E-Working.
