Biography

Dr. Nicole Votolato Montgomery is an Assistant Professor of Marketing. She joined the College of William and Mary faculty in 2007. Dr. Montgomery completed her undergraduate degree in Logistics, Operations Management, and Marketing from The Ohio State University. In addition, she earned a Masters degree and Ph.D. from Ohio State. Prior to her graduate work, she was employed as a merchandiser at Abercrombie & Fitch.

Dr. Montgomery's research focuses on issues related to consumer behavior and judgment and decision making. In particular, she studies consumer memory and how consumers evaluate experiences over time. Her research also examines consumer commitment to brands and the effects of imagery on consumer behavior. Her work has appeared in or is forthcoming in the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the Journal of Advertising, and the Journal of Consumer Research. Dr. Montgomery's teaching experience includes courses at the undergraduate level, such as Consumer Behavior and Principles of Marketing.
