Biography

William Stauffer, formerly  a senior trial partner (and now Counsel) with a regional AmLaw 200 law firm, focuses his practice on complex business trials, including representation of the developer / homebuilder, financial institution and manufacturing industries. Mr. Stauffer has decades of experience litigating matters in state and federal courts, primarily in the mid-Atlantic region, on matters involving contract and business tort claims, insurance coverage, dissolution and receiverships, injunctions, restrictive covenants, trade secrets and protection of proprietary rights.

Mr. Stauffer is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia. He is a member of the District of Columbia, Fairfax, Newport News (President 2014-2015), and Williamsburg Bar Associations and the Business and Litigation sections of the American Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar.  Mr. Stauffer has been frequently recognized by Virginia Business magazine as one of the state’s “Legal Elite” for civil litigation. The Best Lawyers in America has also recognized Mr. Stauffer as a top lawyer in the area of Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Banking & Finance, and Litigation – Real Estate. Mr. Stauffer received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University and his juris doctor degree from The Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William & Mary.
