Biography

Mr. Silberman serves as Associate Counsel for Arms Control and International Law at the United States Navy Office of Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) in Washington, DC. Prior to serving in his present position, Mr. Silberman served on active duty as a Navy Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps (JAGC) assigned to the Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia.

In 2005, Jared served as an Advisor to the United States Mission to the United Nations in connection with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Sessions. He is the author of "Non-Lethal Weaponry and Non-Proliferation" published by the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy.

Before assuming duties as a specialist in arms control, Mr. Silberman served as senior counsel in commercial litigation for both the Department of the Navy and the Attorney General's Office for the District of Columbia. In his litigation work Mr. Silberman developed a specialty in the relatively newly-evolved field of electronic discovery and Internet law. In this capacity he was frequently asked to lecture at numerous attorney legal education seminars and helped developed the Navy's litigation training for electronic issues in litigation. As a sub-specialty, Mr. Silberman also lectures on corporate issues concerning Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.

Mr. Silberman has served as an Adjunct Professor at The College of William and Mary, Marymount University, and the Naval War College.
