Biography

Alex Woods joined the Mason School of Business faculty in 2008. His teaching assignments at Mason include Accounting for Managerial Decision Making in the full-time MBA program and Managerial Accounting in the flex MBA program. He has extensive work experience assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of key managerial accounting issues and decisions for the United States Air Force.

Alex earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Alex's research interests are managerial accounting and control, performance measurement and evaluation, incentives, and resource allocation. His current research evaluates the benefits and costs of subjective performance measure adjustments using a proprietary dataset.
