Biography
Californian Brad Lindsey brings real-world public accounting experience to his position at the Mason School of Business. He received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Brigham Young University in 1996, earning a B.S. in Accounting, graduating cum laude, and an M.S. in Accountancy, graduating with distinction. In 2006 he earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School.
A licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Utah since 1997, Brad was a Tax Associate with the consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP in North Carolina and California, and a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young LLP in Salt Lake City. His teaching commitments at Mason include Financial Reporting and Analysis in both the full-time and flex MBA programs.
Brad's research interests are varied, and include Financial Reporting and Capital Markets; Taxes and Asset Pricing; Corporate and Shareholder Taxation; and the Economic Effects of Public Policy. His dissertation examined the value relevance of the current real estate leasing standards. He is co-authoring a paper on one of his current research projects which examines REIT dividends.
In 2000, Brad received the American Accounting Association (AAA) Doctoral Fellowship Award and was an AAA Doctoral Consortium Fellow in 2003. He sits on the Board of Directors of The Buyer's Fund, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to increasing opportunities for home ownership.
A member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Accounting Association, Brad is pleased to be here in Williamsburg and is looking forward to teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
"The College of William & Mary has the balance I am looking for in terms of research and teaching expectations," he says. "As an added bonus, Williamsburg seems like a terrific place to raise a family."
Brad is a big sports fan and might even be able to find some time to watch, in between teaching, research, and raising his family - Allison, Nathan, and Rebecca - with his wife, Camille.
