Joann  Kansier

Biography

Joann Kansier is the Sole Proprietor/CEO of Informed Solutions, LLP, a consulting firm specializing in assisting large and small businesses obtain contracts supporting the Federal Aviation Administration.  Before opening her own business in 2012, Kansier was a Director with Grant Thornton (GT), Global Public Sector.  While at GT she was the Department of Transportation Account Team Lead, growing its revenues from $2M to $25M annually.  She also spearheaded its campus recruitment efforts at William and Mary.

Kansier is a retired Senior Executive from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  In her last position she led the Agency’s Competitive Sourcing organization, running the largest public/private competition completed in the Federal government.  The result was a savings of $2.2B over 12 years.  In previous positions with the FAA, Kansier ran the Mission and Investment Analysis Organization and was the Program Director for the Tower and Terminal Automation Services.  During her career in Federal acquisition Kansier oversaw contracts valued up to $1.5B.  Kansier began her career in labor relations and held positions of responsibility with the National Labor Relations Board, the Agricultural Research Service and the Federal Railroad Administration.

Kansier is a Harvard University Senior Executive Fellow.  She earned her MBA from the University of Maryland and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lafayette College.  Her expertise includes consulting, program management, negotiations, federal acquisition, organizational improvement, labor relations, and business development.
