John  Hudson

Biography
Hudson’s professional career spanned 41 years and while diverse in scope, it was consistently anchored in the CPA profession.  John spent 15 years with KPMG (and predecessor firms) including one year in the international headquarters in Amsterdam where he served as the International Director of Professional Development.  From there, he spent 11 years with the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) serving as Vice President of Technical Standards & Services and Chief Knowledge/Strategy Officer.  For 5 years he also served as a member of the United States delegation to the Board of the International Accounting Standards Committee. In 2000, John co-founded CPA2Biz, Inc. (now CPA.com), a technology and marketing firm focused on practicing CPAs and their clients.  The Company, which included a spin out of the for-profit activities of the AICPA, quickly became one of the “Top 500 Internet Retailers” in the United States.  John served as Senior Vice President – Marketing Strategy for CPA2Biz. In 2003, John founded Hudson Consulting Group, LLC, a product strategy consulting firm  focused on helping vendors and other organizations be more successful in serving the CPA marketplace.  From 2003 until 2014 he also was the exclusive “on-camera” host and moderator for over 400 live video webcasts sponsored by the AICPA. John retired from Hudson Consulting Group, LLC in 2015 and is currently an active investor and a member of the Kingsmill Community Services Association’s Finance & Budget Committee.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of West Florida and an MBA from Florida State University.  He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Florida and New York and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) licensed by the American Institute of CPAs.
