Biography

Diane Burgraff has been employed in the utility industry for forty years. The former Diane S. Meyer was Vice President of Finance (includes Rates and Regulatory Affairs) with The Peoples Natural Gas Company in Pittsburgh from 1991-1999 and her career with the Peoples system spanned almost twenty-five years starting in 1974.

The Peoples Natural Gas Company headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA was a natural gas producer, supplier and distributor of natural gas to end-use customers. The company had 1600 employees and served 365,000 customers in seventeen counties in Western Pennsylvania during Diane Burgraff’s employment. . It was a wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Natural Gas, which was traded on the NYSE. Consolidated Gas and its subsidiaries were purchased by Dominion Resources, Inc. shortly after Diane Burgraff’s employment ended. Peoples Gas has subsequently has been sold by Dominion to another entity.

During her years with Peoples, she was responsible for all rate filings made by Peoples with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.  She also managed all of Peoples regulatory matters and issues involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. She was also responsible for all of Peoples financial departments.

Since leaving Peoples Gas in 1999, Diane Burgraff has worked as an independent consultant and expert witness. Her clients have included gas, water, and wastewater utilities, government entities, large utility customers and trade associations.

Diane  Burgraff received her B.S. from West Virginia University in 1972 where she majored in mathematics/secondary education, received her M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh  in 1974 with a specialty in finance and accounting and completed the full-time six-week Executive Education Program from the University of Pittsburgh in 1990. She has served on the Boards of Directors of various not-for-profit organizations including the Pittsburgh Zoological Society and Goodwill Industries of Pittsburgh.
