OneSource Global and MarketLine Advantage databases offer company SWOT analysis. However, OneSource Global contains the most comprehensive data.

Where can I get information on private companies?

(Caveat - Private Companies are not required to report information, therefore data is often incomplete or not available.)

Bloomberg - This database can only be accessed in the McLeod Business Library.

  • Offers financial information on over 400 private companies and subsidiaries, if they issue debt.
  • Begin typing the name of your company of interest at the blinking cursor at the top of the screen. If Bloomberg has any information on this firm, they will appear as a match in the accompanying search result menu.

Hoover's

  • Search by company name.
  • If you want a list of private companies choose Build a List then Company Type then Private. You can then include any other criteria of your choosing, then generate a list of all companies that match.

Where can I find annual reports?

Public companies are required to file many forms with the SEC, including the Annual Report to Stockholders (ARS) and 10-K Report. You may be able to find these on the company's website. The following databases will also help locate the reports.
