Jeffrey S. Hughes

National Managing Partner, Audit Risk Management, Grant Thornton

Jeff is National Managing Partner for Audit Risk Management at Grant Thornton. Previously, he served as the Regional Director for the Atlanta office of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.  He joined the Washington, D.C. office of the PCAOB in the Division of Registration and Inspection in May 2003 and became the leader for the Atlanta office in January 2004 concurrent with the office opening. 

Prior to joining the PCAOB, Jeff was an audit partner at Ernst & Young LLP in the Washington, D.C. area.  While at Ernst & Young, Jeff served clients in multiple industries and participated in local and national recruiting, education and many other initiatives. 

Jeff earned his BBA from the College of William and Mary, where he is a member of the Accounting Programs Board of the Mason School of Business. Jeff is a licensed CPA in Virginia and a member of the AICPA.
