Candace “Candy” H. Duncan serves KPMG as managing partner for the Washington Metropolitan Area. In this role, Candy is responsible for leading the firm’s quality growth priorities across its Audit, Tax, and Advisory functions in the local marketplace. She serves on the firm’s board of directors and is chair of the Partnership & Employer of Choice Committee. She has previously served on the firm’s Operations Committee and National Leadership Team for the Audit practice.
Candy was admitted to the partnership in 1987 and has more than 30 years of experience as a professional with KPMG, recently serving as the Midatlantic Area managing partner for Audit. Before that, she was Audit partner in charge for the Virginia Business Unit, a role she served in for more than 10 years.
Candy has served as lead Audit partner for major international and domestic companies and currently serves as account executive for many of the firm’s leading clients. Her extensive experience has been gained through assisting her clients to resolve all types of accounting and operational issues. She has assisted a number of clients in registering their initial public offerings, secondary offerings, and bond offerings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She also has assisted publicly and privately held clients in seizing timely opportunities including mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and consolidations.
Candy is a member of the AICPA and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a BS degree in accounting from Kansas State University. She works to advance mentoring relationships within the firm and is a strong supporter of KPMG's Network of Women.
