Before that, he was Senior Vice President of Juran Institute, Inc., the well-known international consulting firm in quality management. Prior experience includes the position of Director of the IBM Quality Institute; Director of the IBM Information Systems Center at Sterling Forest, NY; several other executive and managerial positions in various IBM functions in the United States and abroad. Prior to founding The Marketing Counselor, some of my career experiences included: VP Business Manager for Johnson and Johnson, Ortho Clinical Diagnostic responsible for the business unit management and profitability. Regional Business Unit Manager for the Asia Pacific markets for Eastman Kodak's business imaging line where responsibilities included market development and organization development as well as profit center management. Director of Marketing, Kodak Near East located in United Arab Emirates. Responsibilities included building channels of distribution for all Kodak business units as well develop and providing marketing assistance to distributor organization
Randall A.Perkins:
Semi-Retired. Currently serving as a management consultant with J.T.O’Connell and Associates. Recent projects included life cycle management of the design, development, testing, and implementation of the Regent University Enterprise System and support to The Army Distance Learning Program. Recently served 12 yrs with EDS as manager of Regional Programs. This involved business development activities through proposal, award, and execution for programs in the areas of Personnel Systems, IRS Tax Modernization and DOD Health Affairs. Former Senior Army Officer with 22 yrs of extensive Leadership Assignments and Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution experience at the Department of Army and Defense level. BS in Engineering from the United States Military Academy and MS in Operations Research/Systems Analysis from US Naval Postgraduate School.
Richard L. Pflederer:
Served as Vice President/General Manager for Degussa Corporation, the North American subsidiary of this German multinational company. He led the Silicas/Catalysts Division. Gained prior experience with the Monsanto Company's international division as Managing Director of Japan and as Director, Far East handling general management of businesses in Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent and Greater China. Also served five years in Brazil as head of a manufacturing complex. Acquired additional experience in negotiating and managing international joint ventures and at headquarters in strategic planning, and manufacturing operations. BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University; Key Manager Program at Thunderbird; Executive Program in International Management at Columbia University. Currently serves on the Boards of Picus Financial (London), Educational Assistance, Ltd., a not-for-profit company in Chicago and the Olde Towne Medical Center locally. Lectures in a variety of subjects at W&M and ODU.
Michael D. Picardi:
Retired. Last eight years as entrepreneurial owner/operator of MDP Group, part of a nationwide business brokerage organization, with an office in the San Francisco Bay Area. Achievements included being the first nationwide user of the internet for business sales, designed and implemented a performance based bonus system that recognized continuous monthly sales vice annual sales which resulted in the office being one of the top five for revenue performance our last five years. Previous thirty years was in the Defense Electronics electronic warfare sector serving as a Vice President of Program Management, all with P&L responsibilities, for such companies as Loral, Dalmo Victor of General Instruments, and in director level management capacities with other companies such as Kaiser Electronics, Perkin-Elmer Aerospace. Experience was in the high technology development and pilot production of sophisticated military defense systems for domestic and international governmental agencies of the UK, the then FRG, and Israel. Joseph R. Pinotti:
Retired. Former President of Wacker Chemical Holding Corporation's North American Operations of Wacker Chemie, Munich, Germany; a supplier of chemicals, silicon wafers, silicones, and ceramic powders. Experienced in General Management, Joint Venture Management, Strategic Planning, Restructuring, Marketing, and Quality Process Implementation. Prior experience as Group Vice President, Chemicals, BASF Corporation and its predecessor, Badische Corporation. International experience as Executive Vice President of Dow Unquinesa, a publicly held corporation in Bilbao, Spain and General Manager of Dow Chemical Iberian Operations; Managing Director of Dow Chimica Spa in Milan, Italy; and as Marketing Manager, Industrial Chemicals, Zurich, CH., BA Education; MBA both from Stanford University.
Louise Pritchard:
Active. Patton Pritchard Consulting provides strategic brand marketing, analysis and problem solving to small and mid-size companies. Mrs. Pritchard founded the company after almost eight years with FORTUNE magazine, during which she developed high-level working relationships with top company executives in the Southeast. She leveraged FORTUNE's resources to assist her clients with the development of integrated marketing strategies with a thorough analysis and assessment program. Her primary FORTUNE markets included financial, technology, economic development and higher education. Prior to her tenure with FORTUNE, Mrs. Pritchard held marketing positions of progressive responsibility with BellSouth, Egleston Children's Hospital and Holiday Inn Worldwide. She has a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Auburn University.
Charles G. Raphael:
Retired. Executive Vice President, Bank One Corp., Retail Banking Group 1998-2000. Responsible for: a.)National Telephone Banking Group, delivering sales and service nationally to consumers and small businesses; b.) ATM network of 10,000 ATMs; c.) overall management of 1,800 branch office network with focus on strategy, location analysis and divestiture/acquisition activities. Senior Vice President, Delivery Channel and Development, First Chicago NBD Corp. 1996-1998. Responsible for strategy, optimization and integration of retail delivery channels including branch network and new electronic channels. Peter L. Rapuzzi:
Semi-Retired. 35 years experience primarily with The Chase Manhattan Bank (now JPMorganChase & Co.), and later with the Export-Import Bank of the US and FleetBoston Financial Corporation. Responsibilities included new business initiation and management of segments of their US corporate and international operations. Areas of particular focus were on structuring aircraft, trade, export and project finance transactions for US and European multinational corporations, and local national corporations in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Other experiences include sovereign debt rescheduling; execution of debt/equity and debt-for-goods swaps; and cross-border corporate and country credit and financial analysis. Howard R. Richardson:
Retired. Former Senior Associate of the Washington Consulting Group (WCG), a privately held aviation-oriented consulting company supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as well as several foreign governments. During 7 years with WCG, undertook a number of business development projects and spearheaded the company’s involvement in winning a very large FAA contract as a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin. Prior to joining WCG, served in a variety of management and executive positions in Human Resource Management functions in the Federal Government, first as a meme r of the staff in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation, followed by nearly 20 years with the FAA, including serving as Personnel Director, responsible for the rebuilding of the Air Traffic Controller workforce after President Reagan fired the majority of the Controllers during their illegal strike in 1981. Served two tours of active duty with the US Army and retired from the Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. BA in English from the University of Virginia, with considerable post-graduate work and participation in a wide variety of management training courses.

Served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Savannah (GA) Bank & Trust Co., leading an asset expansion from $275 million to $650 million over six years. Gained prior banking experience with Wachovia Bank, N.A. as Senior Vice President for Funds Management, with direct management responsibility for $1.3 billion in fixed income securities. Later led Wachovia’s Financial Institutions Division, overseeing 800 correspondent banking relationships. Also served as Senior Vice President & Director of Government Relations for First Union Corporation, and as Executive Director of the Bank Capital Markets Association. As President, led the American Bankers Association during the passage of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989. Played significant business development and strategic alliance management roles with Online Resources and Digital Insight, both start-up Internet Banking outsourcing companies. Participated as Founding Advisory Board member for The Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics at Washington & Lee University, where he earned his B.A. Currently serves as Associate Director of Development for The Mason School of Business, The College of William & Mary.
Allan A. “Rik” Rikkola, Jr.:
Formerly Treasurer of Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited, a multi-billion dollar liquefied natural gas Start-up Company in Qatar, Middle East, 30% owned by Mobil Corporation. Prior experience as Assistant Treasurer of the Worldwide Marketing and Refining Division of Mobil Corporation. Experienced in corporate finance and treasury management, including start-up operations, project and structured financing, strategic financial planning and international business. Consult on treasury management and lender compliance programs. BME in Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth.
Dr. C. Howard Robins, Jr.:
Currently providing management consultant services to government and private sector organizations. Served as Executive in Residence at Virginia Tech following retirement from NASA. Retired from NASA as the Deputy Associate Administrator for Space Systems Development. Acquired extensive experience in R&D programs, in Project Management and in Institutional Management. Participated in the President's Executive Exchange Program as the Acting Director of Research and Development for Newport News Shipbuilding. BS in Aeronautical Engineering (Co-Op Plan) and PhD in Physics from Virginia Tech; MSA in Management from George Washington University; attended AMP Program at Harvard Business School.
Edward Robinson:
Previously CFO for the North American region of Mars Inc. – a privately owned food business operating in over 60 countries, with global headquarters in Virginia. Responsibilities included finance; strategic planning; operational business planning; tax & treasury management for the Americas; and supporting the development of global IT based systems and processes. Led the development of the Finance Faculty of Mars University. Prior experience, mainly with Mars Inc., included positions as a CFO in Europe; Corporate Finance Staff Officer; Brands Manager; and Operational Research Scientist. Educated in the U.K., with degrees from Cambridge (in mathematics), and Lancaster (MA in operational research).

Partnered in start-up of one financial service private equity fund and managed another established fund. Formerly was Director of several companies, both investee and independent. Vice President of General Re Group with responsibilities for corporate strategy and development, investor relations, capital planning and strategic venture capital investing. Senior Vice President, specialty operations, of The Hartford with corporate development responsibilities in addition to marketing large-risk and specialty insurance products. Bruce E. Russell:
Thirty years of diverse financial experience with Philip Morris USA and Philip Morris International. Current position is Finance Director, Financial Planning and Analysis at Philip Morris USA. Served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps with tactical and leadership responsibilities.
