Full-Time MBA

LOCATION

WHU is located in the lovely town of Vallendar, directly on the Rhine, at the heart of one of the most beautiful and ancient cultural landscapes, the Upper Middle Rhine Valley.

The former garrison city of Koblenz, with its historic old town, is just six kilometers away. Cologne and Frankfurt can be reached in under an hour. As a result, study abroad students have numerous opportunities for extra-curricular and cultural activities.

WHU CAMPUS

The main WHU building is known as the Marienburg, and the lecture halls are centrally located around a central square, the Burgplatz. Together with the neighboring park, this lends a self-contained campus setting to the WHU experience. The library, computer room, lecture halls, departments, cafeteria and administrative offices are within a short distance of one another. The Burgplatz is a pleasant place for relaxing, with its benches nestling under shady trees and large fountain.

TUITION AND CREDITS

Tuition is paid to the College of William and Mary for credits earned; program fees due to WHU are waived.  Students are responsible for funding and procuring travel to Vallendar. WHU assists in arranging housing for the program's duration.  Credits earned during this course of study for all courses passed will be transferred in and applied towards the electives requirements for the William and Mary MBA Degree.

Program Information

The WHU Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management is a private, state-accredited business school of university ranking. It was founded in 1984 through private initiative and, in turn, it fosters private initiative. It is supported by the non-profit WHU Foundation (Stiftung Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Unternehmensführung).

International Focus

In the internationally focused and practice-oriented diploma program, WHU prepares students for management responsibilities in international companies. WHU's objective is not just to provide students with the tools needed for career success: the school's educational concept also promotes a sense of responsibility for the social and ecological consequences of their management decisions. WHU also emphasizes personality development. The program develops students' discretion in ethical and business considerations.

The Changing Environment Summer Program 2006

From May 7-May 28, 2006, and from May 14-June 3, 2006 WHU held the twelfth Summer Course for North American MBA students with two identical programs. The program, entitled “The Changing Environment for International Business in Europe,” attracted many students from WHU's partner universities, including several William and Mary MBAs.

The combination of academic content, visits to companies and the European Central Bank, the German Central Bank and the Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, and an active cultural program contribute to the consistently high number of participants from year to year.
