James Haltiner provides oversight of the MBA student managed equity portfolio, “The Batten Fund.” In 2004, he was named the Frank Batten Professor for Distinguished MBA Teaching. Professor Haltiner has also consulted with or served as an expert witness for a number of public and private organizations about financial valuation, financing, investors' opportunity cost of capital, and in matters of utility rate regulation. |
Mark T. Finn
Adjunct Professor, has almost 35 years experience in the investment profession. He is Chairman of Vantage Consulting Group, a research-based investment advisory firm that specializes in practical implementation of investment theory for pensions, endowments and high net worth individuals. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of CitiFunds. He has served as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Lindner Asset Management, as a Director and as Chairman of the RF&P Corporation, as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Retirement System, and of the State of Alaska, as a member of the Futures Advisory Committee of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and as a member of Rowan & Blewitt Inc.’s Advisory Board. Prior to joining Vantage Consulting Group, he founded a money management firm, Delta Financial, Inc. in 1983. From 1968-1983, he was the Vice President and Director of Research for Virginia National Bank. He has taught MBA portfolio management electives at the Colgate Darden Graduate Business School (UVA) and at William and Mary’s Business School as an adjunct faculty member. He earned an MBA degree form the College of William and Mary.
