The personalized experience that you will find in the William and Mary Flex MBA Program begins in the admissions process. The Mason School of Business at The College of William and Mary seeks applicants from a wide range of academic fields and professional experiences who exhibit strong leadership skills and have clear professional goals. Our Flex MBA Admissions Committee selects those candidates who we believe will succeed at William and Mary and throughout their chosen careers. We welcome applications from graduates of accredited colleges and universities in all academic disciplines, and we consider the following aspects of a candidate’s profile when evaluating each application:
- A demonstrated record of achievement
- Focus and direction regarding professional goals and how an MBA will contribute
- GMAT scores which reflect preparation and anticipation of a rigorous academic curriculum
- Breadth and depth of work experience; we consider the impact a candidate has made on an organization, growth in responsibility over time and other factors when evaluating experience, not simply the number of years
- Prior academic performance at an accredited college or university with the minimum of a U.S. bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent
- Letters of recommendation (2), with a strong preference for professional recommendations; academic recommendations are a secondary choice and personal recommendations are discouraged
- Ability to contribute to the class and Program
- Leadership potential
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid decision-making skills
- Results orientation
- Extracurricular and community involvement
