Executive MBA

Domestic Residencies

Residency Weeks here on our beautiful campus enhance teamwork and encourage interaction between students and faculty.  These weeks are also critical to the accelerated 20-month format. Students stay in a Colonial Williamsburg hotel near campus, and attend four classes a day on most days.  Therefore, each domestic residency is the equivalent of four weeks of course work. Evenings include completing assignments, meeting with study teams, a variety of dinners, and socializing.

1st Residency Period
January 2009

At the very beginning of the Executive MBA Program, new students convene in Williamsburg.  Members of the class begin working with their teams immediately by participating in team-building exercises, including a ropes course.  These activities help develop the bonds that will be a critical asset as they move forward in the Executive MBA Program.

2nd Residency Period
August 2009

The academic focus of the third semester is strategy integration. Every moment of the week is filled with learning, even if some of those educational experiences involve a golf club or spa trip. The international trip destination is announced and the class elects class officers.

3rd Residency Period
January 2010

The third residency week is held at the beginning of the fourth semester, at the same time a new class is starting.  The senior class members focus their attention on business policy and strategy, managing change in organizations and other relevant topics.  They are also given the rewarding opportunity to mentor the incoming class.
