The learning does not end just because you have earned your MBA. The Lifetime Learning Program (LLP) offers you and your colleagues the opportunity to participate in on-going educational events on campus focusing on current management issues. In addition to the classroom sessions, you will have the opportunity to meet with fellow Executive MBA alums and Executive MBA faculty members during a group lunch. Alumni often make a weekend of it, adding in a golf game the next day with fellow graduates of the Executive MBA Program.
A Typical LLP Agenda:
10:00 a.m.: Continental Breakfast
10:30 - 12:00 p.m.: “Top Ten Ideas in Estate and Financial Planning” with Professor Howard Busbee
"When most people think of planning for their family security, wealth preservation, tax savings and similar personal financial issues, they believe it will be important “down the road”, and more critical family and career issues need to be addressed first. Others just find they are “too busy to plan”. Still others are in denial about the need for planning. This discussion will emphasize that financial, income tax and estate planning can be started now, and several ideas are presented for potential application to you and your family, that are worthy of your considering in the near term."
12:00 – 1:30 p.m.: Lunch at the Green Leafe Deli
1:30 – 3:00 p.m.: “Practical Use for Statistical Applications” with Professor Hector Guerrero
'Statistics can strike fear in the heart of even the most capable MBA. But should you cower in a corner and feign a bad cold when your boss asks you to perform statistical analysis? Of course not! So let’s get a grip and see what we can do to laugh in the face of that boss and reply—“Statistics, I not afraid of any stinking statistics!!” '
3:00 – 3:30 p.m.: Break
3:30– 5:00 p.m.: “Business and Intellectual Property Law in a Nutshell” with Professor Dick Ash
"All of us should have a basic knowledge of the law and how it both protects you and constrains you. Never let your attorneys make business decisions for you…..but know what they are talking about and why they are recommending certain actions. In a short course we will discuss intellectual property, incorporation and other matters of legal importance to enable you to make more informed decisions in your careers."
