Tom Rideout served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Savannah (GA) Bank & Trust Co. during the 1980’s, leading an asset expansion from $275 million to $650 million over six years. He gained prior banking experience with Wachovia Bank, N.A. as Senior Vice President for Funds Management, with direct management responsibility for $1.3 billion in fixed income securities and later led Wachovia’s Financial Institutions Division, overseeing 800 correspondent banking relationships. Tom also served as Senior Vice President & Director of Government Relations for First Union Corporation. As President, he led the American Bankers Association during the passage of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989.
After completing his ABA commitment, Tom served a stint as Executive Director of the Bank Capital Markets Association in Washington, DC and then led a Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Russian American Bankers Forum team providing financial infrastructure reform advice and project support in Russia and Kazakhstan. Tom also played significant business development and strategic alliance management roles with Online Resources and Digital Insight, both start-up Internet Banking outsourcing companies. He was a Founding Advisory Board member for The Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics at Washington & Lee University, where he earned his B.A. Currently, Tom serves as Director of Corporate Relations for The Mason School of Business at The College of William & Mary and administers the Secretariats for the Mason Accounting Programs and Business Partners Boards.
