Michelle J. Bolter
Managing Director
VERIS CONSULTING, LLC

“My accounting degree from W&M led me to a challenging career in forensics.  It’s a great combination of accounting, investigation and law.  While I don’t examine dead bodies for a living, I’ve certainly analyzed my fair share of dead companies.”

Michelle Bolter, CPA, is a Managing Director In Veris Consulting’s Reston, VA office. Michelle joined the firm following her graduation from W&M in 1998. She has served as a member of the Confirming Changes Task Force for the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide for Property and Liability Insurance Companies during 2003-2004.

Michelle has extensive experience assisting counsel in causation and damage assessments related to auditors’ liability of failed property/casualty and life and health insurance companies. Her recent litigation includes the evaluation of financial statement preparation and disclosures and breach-of-contract evaluations related to Acquisition Agreements in arbitration and litigation.  In addition to forensic accounting, Michelle has supervised audits of both public and nonprofit entities and has participated in state regulatory examinations.
