Rachna Prakash joined the Mason School of Business faculty in the Fall of 2007 after receiving her Ph.D from Goizueta Business School, Emory University. Her research interests are primarily in the field of empirical financial accounting. She is interested in studying the interaction between the macro-economy and firms’ financial statements. She also finds the evolution of economic institutions fascinating.
She has extensive work experience, having worked here in the US and in India. A certified Chartered Accountant and having a Masters in Business Administration, she has worked in both public accounting and investment banking. Her public accounting training was with KPMG and her investment banking assignments were with Citibank and Salomon Smith Barney. She also has a MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her MBA is from the University of Rochester. Rachna is a member of the American Accounting Association and an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
