Donald J. Messmer is the J. S. Mack Professor of Business Administration at the College of William and Mary. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and Quantitative Methods from Washington University in St. Louis. His work has been published in numerous academic publications. He also is founder and President of The Wessex Group, a strategic marketing research and planning firm with offices in Williamsburg, Virginia. At William and Mary he directed the Executive MBA Program for four years. Currently he coordinates the MBA Field Studies Program in which all second year MBAs, in teams of 4-6 students, undertake a paid consulting assignment with a regional business. He has presented executive seminars to a number of executive groups including the Chevrolet-Pontiac-Canada Group of General Motors. In community affairs, he led the effort to create and acquire the facilities for a $2.0 mil. regional community services center. He is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Education.
